1. You can always ask an ADN expert for help!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Too busy? Is your team overburdened? Are your resources strapped?
Many of you say that your company would like to get onto one of our new releases, but there’s no time. And the technical folks are overworked already. Relax. Think about handing the work to somebody else.
Ask an ADN expert to help you!
ADN consultants are experienced programmers who can provide technical expertise on a project basis. They work in Autodesk’s object-oriented development environment every day. They are trained on the latest APIs in our products. We can recommend Autodesk experts from our own staff, or provide other suggestions/options for you to consider. Often, there are ADN members located near you who can help on a contractual basis.
When you need more than routine support, ask an Autodesk expert. Simply email dev-consult@autodesk.com for more information.

2. Consultants: highlight your porting services on www.autodesk.com
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Very soon, we will be highlighting the expert services of ADN members who are willing to help our customers port to the newest versions of our products. For an idea of where the links will be placed, take a look at these pages on autodesk.com:
AutoCAD® 2004 http://partnerproducts.autodesk.com/compatiblewith/autocad.asp
Autodesk® Arch. Desktop 2004 http://partnerproducts.autodesk.com/compatiblewith/archdesktop.asp
Autodesk® Map™ 2004 http://partnerproducts.autodesk.com/compatiblewith/map.asp
Autodesk® Inventor® http://partnerproducts.autodesk.com/compatiblewith/inventor.asp.
Here’s how to make sure your name shows up:
1. Go to http://adn.autodesk.com .
2. Select "My Products/Company" from the left navigation bar.
3. Click on the blue bar labeled “My Product/Company Data”.
4. Go to "art 3: Company Information" and look under "Additional Company Information" where you'll be able to provide information about your consulting services. You can pick two Autodesk products you know very well.
5. It’s as simple as that! If you can provide expert assistance for our most recent product releases, we will link to your information from one of the compatible product pages listed above.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Would you like to modify .DWG attributes outside of AutoCAD?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Autodesk is investigating the possibility of an easy-to-use, simple-to-license, standalone component that would allow you to read and write block attributes in .DWGs –- without having to open a full session of AutoCAD. We have heard several ADN members say that they could really use a simple utility like this … now, more than ever … so their applications can support the 2004 .DWG format.
If you are interested in such a tool, we would like to hear from you. Especially if you have time to provide us feedback (and possibly act as an alpha tester). Write kean.walmsley@autodesk.com and describe your exact needs. For example, is reading/writing block attributes enough? Or do you need more functionality?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
