This readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of the Service Pack. We strongly recommend that you read the entire document before you apply the Service Pack to your product. For reference, you save or print this document.

Primary Issues Resolved by This Service Pack
Problems Reported with the Customer Error Reporting Utility
As a result of the detailed information that we received from customers who used the Customer Error Reporting Utility, several problems were identified and fixed. Updates have been made in the following commands and features:
DB Connect - Occasional crashes when using DB Connect feature on 64-bit machines with 4GB and more RAM.
Status Bar - Occasional crashes when opening drawing file when a bubble notification is still displayed.
New Tab - Occasional crashes when clicking New in the Quick Access Toolbar or the Start Drawing tile on the New Tab page.
- Occasional crashes when clicking the New Tab Plus button after adding LayerFilterComboControl or Filter in the CUI dialog box.
Design Center - Occasional crashes when inserting a block from Design Center on the second time.
General - Occasional crashes when selecting the "Fully open the drawing file" option that displays when opening a drawing that was saved in the partial open state.
- Occasional crashes when exiting AutoCAD.
General Service Pack Updates
The following defects have been fixed:
3D Modeling - Using the ViewCube dropdown for selecting a saved UCS will not accept UCS names that contain a space.
- The SCALE command is not applied correctly for scale factors less than 1/100th.
Display - Cursor trails will display on the screen for users with Optimus or Dynamic Switchable Graphics technology.
Hatch - Lineweight is applied and displayed for solid hatch objects.
- Additional lines display in the selection highlighting for a solid hatch object.
- Hatch objects do not apply LAYLOCKFADECTL or XDWGFADECTL.
- The angle of a gradient changes the appearance of that gradient.
- Solid hatch objects display the edge color.
Plot - ViewCube will appear on plots under certain conditions.
VBA - Unable to execute SendCommand API in multiple drawings.
General
- The number of recently used files accepts a maximum of 10. The maximum has been restored to 50.
Security Hotfix
- This Service Pack includes the Autodesk AutoCAD Security Hotfix. This Service Pack can be applied whether that security hotfix was originally applied to your system or not.
- If you have Autodesk ReCap 2015 installed together with AutoCAD 2015, please install Autodesk ReCap 2015 Hotfix 1 via Autodesk Application Manager.
New CURSORBADGE System Variable
CURSORBADGE (System Variable) Controls the display of visual aide badges near the cursor.

General Installation Information
Note: The Autodesk 360 (AdSync) patch will automatically be installed with the AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT Service Pack.
Before You Begin
As you prepare to install this Service Pack, keep the following in mind:
Back Up Custom Files We recommend that you back up all custom CUIX, MNR, and MNL files before you apply this Service Pack.
Administrative Privileges During installation, you will be prompted for the original installation media or a network image. To apply this Service Pack, you must have administrative privileges to install and uninstall products.
Network Deployment Administrators can deploy this Service Pack over a network using the Deployment Wizard.
About Your Product After you install the Service Pack, updated product information will display in the About dialog box.
Reboot After you install this Service Pack, we recommend that you reboot your system even if you are not prompted.
About Windows Command Line Switches
The following Microsoft Windows command line switches are built into this Service Pack:
- /e - Extracts the MSP file from the Service Pack executable file.
- /q - Suppresses the completion message after the Service Pack is applied. This is useful if you use a script or batch file to apply this Service Pack to multiple computers.
Instructions about how to use the /e command line switch are included in the installation procedures that follow.
Installation Instructions
Apply This Service Pack to a Stand-Alone Installation
Follow these instructions to install this Service Pack on a single computer.
- Download this Service Pack and save it to any folder.
- If required, insert the product media (for example, the AutoCAD installation disc).
- Find the folder where you saved the Service Pack and double-click the executable (EXE) file.
Apply This Service Pack Through a Local Network
Follow these instructions to install this Service Pack on multiple computers using your local network.
- Download this Service Pack and save it to any shared folder on your local network.
- Find the shared folder where you saved the Service Pack, and double-click the executable (EXE) file.
Note: Installation through your local network using the CAD Manager Control Utility is not supported for this Service Pack.
Apply This Service Pack to a Network Administrative Image
The following distribution method applies only to administrative images created with the Deployment wizard. After you complete these procedures, subsequent deployments of your product will include this Service Pack.
In all cases, append this Service Pack to the deployment. The only time it is appropriate to merge the Service Pack is if you intend to distribute the deployment through a group policy object.
The patch (Service Pack) file that you download contains an MSP (Microsoft Patch) file, which you extract from the executable file using the /e (extract) switch.
- From the Autodesk Product Support website, download the Service Pack EXE file to your local computer.
- On the Start menu (Windows), click Run. Enter the following information and click OK. <local_drive:>\<patch_name> /e <local_drive:>\< patch_name>.msp
- Insert the Autodesk media and launch setup.exe.
- Select Create Deployments. Click Next.
- On the Begin Deployment page, in the Specify the Deployment Location box, enter the shared network location where you would like to create an administrative image, or click Browse to find a location. Users will install the product from this location.
- In the Specify a Deployment Name box, enter the name for your deployment.
- Continue through the Deployment wizard, open and configure the deployment in the product configuration page, click Add to find the Service Pack extracted in Step 2. Notice that the Service Pack has been added in the Include Service Pack(s) from Local Drive or Local Network box. Close and return to the product list.
- Follow the instructions in the Deployment wizard to complete the Service Pack deployment.
Note: The extraction of MSP from the service pack executable requires VC++ runtime redistributable 2012. Please make sure it is installed before extracting the MSP file.
Uninstall This Service Pack
Windows 7 / Windows 8 - Start Control Panel.
- Click Programs.
- Click Programs and Features.
- In the Programs and Features window, in the left pane, click View Installed Updates.
- Find the appropriate Service Pack in the list of updates. Click Uninstall.
