Job Title: Software Manager

Location: Shanghai

Position Summary:
This position is for a senior software developer with team/project management responsibility. Your team will be a part of a world-famous company specialized in Coordinate Metrology Software. You are required to manage your software developer team in Shanghai and Qingdao, report to the head office in US, receive development assignments and closely work together with other software teams and application teams located all around the world. The focus of the position will be managing scheduled progresses and satisfy requirements and milestones. You will also do software programming tasks and write code primarily in C++, C# and VB as required from time to time.

 
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

n         Interact with the head office and other developer teams. Undertake project assignments, provide project management and coordination as necessary for cross-functional projects.

n         Coordinate localized interaction within the team, managing schedule issues and progress to satisfy requirements and milestones.

n         Understand the software architecture, application and code. Correctly define and assign task within the team. Help team programmers understand the tasks and improve their skills. Make sure the team programmers understanding the requirements and writing quality source code·

n         Design, code, test and troubleshoot software features as one of the team programmers according to the requirements and product specifications. Deliver results that meet requirements and product specifications with a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.

n         Prepare and distribute reports and report formats for executive management. Create, and implement consolidated project histories.

n         Work as an integral part of a high performance team making important individual contributions.

n         Estimate schedules for projects undertaken and complete them on time, adhering to pre-determined specification and quality standards.

n         Perform software testing and problem resolution for other teams.

n         Provide input to Technical documentation and publications. Review documentation of new features and changes.

 

Requirements:

n         BS or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.

n         6+ years experience with Microsoft Visual Studio (especially C++) development environment.

n         Strong analysis, problem-solving and negotiation skills.

n         3+ Experience in technical (software preferred) project management.

n         Ability to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously.

n         Recognized follow-through skills and proven ability to meet project deadlines.

n         Decisiveness, assertiveness, and the ability to drive to closure on decisions.

n         Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proven group facilitation skills.

n         Fluent English speaker with proven high English skills in verbal and text communication.

n         Able to be relocated in Shanghai.

n         Experience in 3D CAD modeling is a plus.

n         Experience in instrumentation is a plus.

n         Experience in Coordinate Metrology is a plus.
